ESU tegen leenstelsel en voor opleidingsaccreditatie

UTRECHT,
05 december 2014

Leenstelsel

“The European Students’ Union (ESU) calls upon the Dutch Senate to undo a proposal by the Dutch government to abolish student grants and introduce a loan scheme. [..] ESU believes that by introducing this loan scheme the accessibility of the Dutch higher education is at stake. Education should be accessible to all students, regardless of their socio-economic background.”

Opleidingsaccreditatie

“The European Students’ Union (ESU) calls upon the Dutch government and accreditation organization (NVAO) to not abolish the accreditation of individual study programmes, by only continuing with accreditation of higher education institutions (HEIs). [..] When the quality of the HEI is in order, this does not necessarily mean that the quality of individual study programmes is of a good standard. There is always the possibility of underachieving programmes.  Next to that, it is  a stimulus to engage in a discussion on the quality of the individual study program.”
